The Playground

In 2012 The Playground Stage returns delivering 3 full days of bizarre and beautiful entertainment of Performance Art and Entertainment;

Wildly smashed together with amazing feats of live musical virtuosity. It refuses to be moulded, defined or held to any musical genre or artistic expression - and it will deliver with arms flailing, absolutely, unashamedly making a spectacle of itself. It is a space for you to be entertained by awe inspiring international, Australian and local performance artists and musicians with the  knack of making you shake it, lose it, love it, come away wanting more....

Including circus arts, dance, theatre, roving characters, cabaret, fire performance and a selection of the best live bands around, it’s an alternate space, for alternative minds…expect the sublime, the beautiful, the grotesque, and the unexpected!

Friday: The Prankstars Ball
Kick off  your rainbow with gypsy fuelled music mayhem and cabaret performance.  Dress sharp!

Saturday:
Theatre and performance will begin early afternoon before the Playground really fires up for a night of globally infused live dance, electronic divine and dirty beats.

Sunday:
A sublime afternoon and evening of chilled dub and reggae beats, circus shenanigans and a grand fire performance extravaganza! Circus, burlesque, cabaret and dance workshops are also presented over the weekend with our very talented artists from around the planet.

Roving Performers

With extraordinary  Performance Artists roving the festival grounds keep an eye out for towering stilt walkers, costumed characters and bizarre individuals (Who may or may not be a part of the program.. all kinds are welcome at Rainbow!).  Roaming the festival grounds are intricately costumed and incredibly talented artists from international and national and local performance troupes, make sure you keep an eye out in wonder!

If you would like to be a part of the massive line up of performance artists to grace the grounds of Rainbow Serpent Festival – We would love to hear from you! We absolutely encourage wild imaginings, the left of centre, the beautiful, the bizarre, the hideous and the behemoths.
