Kids Zone

Kids Zone in 2012 will host an impressive assortment of free workshops and activities to ensure all the children enjoy the festival as much as the big kids do!

With more families choosing to bring their children to share this magical festival the Kids Zone has grown into a vibrant hive of activity, where children love to learn, create and lets not forget … make new friends.

All of our activities and workshops are designed to provide learning and nurturing with a huge dose of fun. As always we strive to ensure all activities are as natural as possible, allowing children to gain basic art & craft skills and utilise their imaginations through natural play. This is a great way to ‘unplug’ your child and get them back to traditional play that sometimes eludes everyday life.

Be sure to look out for the Family Friendly Camping Area on the Festival Map. This space has been specially dedicated to families who wish to meet other families, giving the children a chance to bond, and more importantly it also helps the little ones sleep with reduced noise overnight.

Parents/Guardians: Please remember you are required to supervise your child at all times

Taking inspiration from the stories of the rainbow serpent itself and ideas of creation, this workshop will indulge children’s creative senses and personal expression however they desire: be it physically, hands-on creatively, or both! The workshop will be delivered through a variety of games, activities and loosely guided improvisation to create a piece of group poetry that will be presented through an assortment of performance skills covered during the course of the session.

Twilight tale-making is an interactive storytelling/making workshop that essentially will respond to the creative wishes and energies of the participants; stimulating body and mind for an hour and a half of fun and discovery. Experimenting through playing, physical theatre, movement, poetry and hands-on craft making, children will come together as a community to develop their own style of performing. As a collective creative force, the challenge will be to create a mythological creature to tell a story about their world, bringing it to life in performance and in craft to create a lasting memory.
