We are in the time where video art has taken a complex form, not because of its substance but because of the creation technique, which has had beneficial results. All of this occurs within a set of technologies being developed at an unprecedented, unpredictable speed, within an era defined by a passion for speed and unpredictability. In some places video art has to compete with net.art and streaming media, digital animation and interactive CDs. And as if that were not enough, some music festivals offer the videos as if they are a substance to cram more light in there.
We should treat the form as a work of art, a "canvas on the move" because video art has the power of a painting not requiring a response but asking questions, so that the most beautiful human quality "self perception" gives it life. Like a tribute to tolerance and respect for expression.
Over the course of three evenings curator Ale Diaz will be presenting an eclectic array of video art to dilate the mind and stimulate the senses.
